Do you do program development?

We certainly do! You can either purchase programs or book personal training sessions and be given your workout at the end of the session.

What amenities do you have?

We have free parking, showers, sweat/shower towels, wifi and toiletries.

What is your cancellation policy?

 If you need to reschedule a session, no worries at all! Just give us a 24 hour heads up and you will not be charged for your workout.

What should I eat before a workout?

 Ideally, you should have some form of fuel in your system before you workout. Eating an easily digested carbohydrate an hour or so before you come to the studio ensures that you’ll have enough energy in the tank to get through your workout. Fruit is always a great option if you are concerned about getting an upset stomach. But once again everyone is different so experiment with what works best for you.

How quickly will I see the results from my training?

Most likely you will start to feel better before you really see the results. We always remind clients to celebrate everything along their fitness journey- whether it is lifting a heavier weight, recruiting the proper muscle groups or dropping/gaining inches. The more consistent you stay to your workout and nutrition plan the quicker you will see physical results.

How much does personal trainer cost?

 We have a variety of trainers with all different experience levels. Right now we have trainers that cost anywhere from $60-$90 per hour session.

What do I need to bring?

 Please bring workout clothes, clean indoor shoes and a water bottle.

What should I expect from my trainer?

Your trainer will be there to help you answer any fitness related questions you have. They will be there to help guide you through your fitness journey and help hold you accountable to your goals. We are here to make sure you move through your workouts safely and efficiently. We are in your corner!

What is meant by personal training?

A person who works one-on-one with a client to plan or implement an exercise or fitness regimen. A person who makes sure their client performs exercises correctly, safely and efficiently. 

Is it worth getting a personal trainer?

Hiring a personal trainer is definitely a luxury but it is an investment in your health. Personal trainers should teach you to move properly, design programs specific to you/your goals and help you feel more confident in the gym. Personal trainers should give you 1 free workout so that you know they are the right fit for you before making any financial commitment.

What does a personal trainer do for you?

A personal trainer is there for you through your fitness journey. They should be able to give you advice when it comes it exercise technique, muscle activation, programming, and setting fitness goals. They are there to listen to any issues you might be having with your fitness and give you educated advice to make sure you feel as confident and comfortable as possible.

How much should I charge for a personal training session?

Personal training prices all vary on experience and service. Generally trainers charge anywhere from $50-$90 per session. For small group training generally people divide the price of personal training and add $5-$15 per person to get their group (2) training rate.

GROUP TRAINING RELATED QUESTIONS

How much does small group (2) training cost?

We have a variety of trainers all with different experience and price levels. Right now we have trainers who charge anywhere from $40 to $50+GST per person for group training.

Will I be expected to do the same training session as the person I am working out with?

Not if you are both working towards different goals! A huge benefit to small group training is saving a bit of money but still getting that one on one attention from your trainer. We are here to program or modify your workout so it best suits you!

What is small group PT?

A small group personal training program is a great way to get in shape with a certified personal trainer while working out with friends. You’ll receive individualized attention and support during your sessions. This type of program can be tailored to your fitness level and goals, and is a cost-effective alternative to one-on-one personal training.

HOCKEY RELATED QUESTIONS

How many days a week do you train the athletes?

Right now we have programs that are 4 or 5 days a week for our off season training program.

What should I see over the summer?

Throughout the summer you will see improvements in your strength, power, speed, agility and conditioning.

How does the summer look from a program perspective?

We use a periodization approach when it comes to our summer program. Obviously some athletes start later or go back to teams earlier so not everyone is doing the same training session. But throughout your off season you will do a strength, speed/power, agility and conditioning phase.

How many athletes are in each group?

We really like to keep our groups small so each athlete gets the attention they deserve. Generally we have from 3-8 athletes in each group. Not only are we one of the most affordable training facilities in the city but we also keep our groups the smallest.

How do you train for hockey?

Hockey is a sport that requires a lot of power, explosiveness and conditioning. To be successful on the ice, players need to have strong legs and a strong core. As a hockey player you should work on strength, power, speed, agility and mobility.

How do you increase speed for hockey?

This is a loaded question however if you improve your strength and power speed will increase also, improving something as simple as your vertical will correlate to on ice speed.

How do athletes train for hockey?

How can I improve my strength in hockey?

There are many ways to improve your strength for hockey. But one very successful way is to perform specific exercises that target the muscles used in hockey. Do you come to us or we do we come to you?

That is completely up to you! If you have the space for us to train your staff we are more than happy to travel to you. If you would prefer to come to studio that is something we are open to also!

What does it cost?

That all depends. How many people are there going to be? Are you coming to the studio? How many days a week would you like your staff to work out? Once we sort this all out we can give you a more concrete answer.

There is no magic pill or diet. At the end of the day it is a very simple equation and that is calories in vs. calories out. If you would like to lose weight you need to eat fewer calories than you are burning. If you are looking to put on weight you want to eat more calories than you are burning.

When does weight loss start to show?

That is a loaded question but weight loss comes down to a simple equation – calories in vs. calories out. If you eat less calories than you burn you should lose weight. Unfortunately sometimes the scale can be stubborn but your body composition will change. That is why we always recommend that you take measurements to also track your progress.
