3 Weeks Into 2024- How ya doin’?

Well, we are officially 3 weeks into 2024. If you set some goals for the New Year and have been sticking to them consistently then congratulations! From my experience those first 3 weeks are the toughest, and you’ve just gotten through it. Keep crushing it!

If you are on the other side of that coin, and you’ve been struggling to stay consistent, then this blog is more meant for you. We are going to discuss some tips on how to get back on track, and maybe readjust your goals to help you feel your best in 2024.

  1. FOCUS ON ONE THING- I know we’ve probably mentioned this 30 times throughout our blogs, but maybe this time it will finally stick. Pick what matters most to you and dial it in. You don’t need to change your diet, start exercising, and quit your online shopping addiction all at once. If you really, really want to start to figure out a proper workout routine, then focus only on that! Once that is fully integrated into your lifestyle then maybe delete the Amazon app.
  2. DO NOT LISTEN TO YOUR BODY- So maybe your goal was to start working out 4 days a week…. and now you are sore…. and obviously you are tired…..so maybe you’ll just skip tomorrow’s workout….SHUT UP! There isn’t a person on this planet who has attained a fitness goal by listening to their body. If your legs are sore do upper body, if you don’t have an hour do twenty minutes, if looking at a treadmill makes you want to puke then lift weights. There is always an option so stop making excuses. Stay consistent and it will get easier- Eventually you will be less sore, crave your workouts, and fall in love with fitness- I promise you that.
  3. ACTUALLY SET A SCHEDULE- Put your workouts in your calendar. Establish a consistent workout schedule that aligns with your daily routine. Whether it’s morning workouts before work or evening sessions after. Having a dedicated time slot for exercise helps build a habit. Treat your workouts as non-negotiable appointments that you can’t miss.
  4. TRACK YOUR PROGRESS- If your goal is to lose weight, I want you to not discredit all of the other amazing things that come with it!  Celebrate non-scale victories like losing inches, improved energy levels, better sleep, or increased confidence. It is going to take time to reach your goal and be ok with that! The only way you will ever reach that goal is by staying consistent.
  5. TALK ABOUT YOUR GOAL- For many people, if they tell a loved one that they want to achieve something then they are more likely to stick to it. If your partner knows you are supposed to be at the gym and sees you sitting on your butt, then hopefully they will say something. If you are having trouble holding yourself accountable, sharing your goals with others may help you.

At the end of the day, goals are hard. You wouldn’t have to set them if they were easy. But remember the reason why you want to make this change. Think of how proud of yourself you will be when you attain them. Know that you are bettering yourself. Know that most people would quit but you are not one of them. Hit that refresh button and let’s go!
